Back in July of 2017, a city wide campaign was seen pushing dog owners to register their furry loved ones. One document that made its way around the web stated that the Shenzhen City Urban Management Administration Law Enforcement Supervision Department would be checking dogs for various violations which could result in fine or even confiscation. Of course, this scared the bejesus out of dog owners and there was a rush to register their dogs to ensure compliance.
The city of Shenzhen requires that all dogs living with you as pets be vaccinated at least once a year for rabies and that their place of residence be registered. All-in-all, it's not a difficult process.

Last night, the SCMP published an article explaining how "a rare celestial event will grace the skies during the coming week when a blue moon and lunar eclipse combine with the moon being at its closest point to Earth, resulting in what is being called a 'super blue blood moon'."
Unfortunately, for us here in China, the event will take place, according to NASA at 5:30am EST time in the U.S, or 6:30pm here in China. At this time, the moon is still too low on the horizon to enjoy a great view.

At 5:11pm the Shenzhen Government sent out the following Emergency Alert via SMS warning residents of cold weather approaching for the next few days:
The message states that we should expect strong cold air, rain and wind, from night of the 28th night and the temperature will plummet from the 29th to the 4th with temperature going below 10℃ and to take precautions against cold weather and carbon monoxide poisoning.
The Shenzhen Meteorological Bureau also issued a city-wide Blue Gale Winds warning at 5:30pm today advising that gale force winds will probably affect this area within 6 hours, or is affecting this ...

At 1:34pm Thursday January 25th, smoke from a fire that broke out in the dormitories of a construction site opposite of the Dongjiaotou Metro Station in the Shekou Sub-District of Shenzhen could already be seen and smelled from as far away as Sihai Park.
The blaze apparently started inside the construction workers dormatory on Shekou New Street and Wanxia Road.
By 1:45, firetrucks were already on the scene and most of the black smoke was gone; however, smoke could still be seen and smelled inside the Dongjiaotou Metro Station. Traffic on Shekou New Street was closed off while firefigthers worked to extinguish the blaze.
