Modified POS Machines Stole over 30 Million Yuan

According to the Futian Public Security Bureau Xiangmihu police station, more than 30 Million RMB was stolen from thousands of bank cards, the Nanfang Metropolis Daily reported earlier this month. 33 suspects have been arrested in a police sting investigating modified POS machines. These machines can not only capture all of your bank information, but also your passwords.

Drone Combat Video from Shenzhen Maker Faire 2016 in Sea World, Shekou

Despite Typhoon Haima causing last minute changes to the schedule, the Maker Faire Shenzhen 2016 in Sea World, Shekou was a big success. One notable part of it was the first Drone Combat event held in Shenzhen on October 23rd.

At times things were a bit slow as the audience waited for defeated drones to get back into fighting mode, but overall there were plenty of exciting moments. The announcers did a good job of keeping people entertained during downtimes by doling out gifts and asking questions of the audience. I couldn't understand much of what was said so I spent my time watching the contestants fix their damaged drones.

According to the Nanfang Metropolis Daily (Chinese Newspaper), some of the world's greatest tech giants are on their way to Shenzhen. Tomorrow's the start of the 2nd Shenzhen Maker Week taking place from October 12th to the 18th so it's going to be a big day! Not only for tech lovers and makers but also for drivers that need to move across the city.

There's no indication that this is happening in Shekou yet; however, considering the tech drive in this city it's best to be on the look out.
