Chiwan Tian Hou Temple in Shekou Shenzhen China

Tian Hou Gong, Chiwan's Goddess Temple, is said to have been built as an offering to the Goddess Mazu as far back as 1410. You may also see the temple's name spelled "Tin Han" is some of their marketing materials.

Mazu is the patron saint of seafarers and is often visited by locals before heading off to sea. They say that of the 1500 temples devoted to her across 26 countries, this is the largest in Guangdong.

It's a fairly small temple and is currently undergoing renovations; however, at just 15 RMB for tickets it's not a bad place to visit. We suggest calling ahead of any visit as their hours may fluctuate during renovation. 0755-2685-3219.
